Admission requirements of each program of SmartGlobal are established by the partner institution that certifies the program. To ensure a rich learning experience for participants, admission to programs is based on organizational responsibility and professional achievement, and is selective. For each program partner institutions carefully select a cross-section of participants who have diverse backgrounds and experiences. This approach enables participants to enhance their management learning through the experience of their peers.
For most programs, the admissions process takes two weeks unless otherwise specified.
Approximately two to three weeks prior to the start of the program, you will receive a detailed schedule, case readings, and assignments for the first few days of the program.
We encourage you to re-apply in the future.
Residents of the GCC, who hold a valid resident visa of a country of domicile, can obtain a visit visa on entry into the UAE. For the visit to partner institutions in India please check on visa requirements in the Indian Embassy website in your country. SG will assist in the visa formalities but will not take responsibility for obtaining visas.
Most programs use a mix of theory and the case-method. IIMA programs use the case method, pioneered by Harvard Business School, and considered to be the best tool to teach general management and leadership. Case studies offer multiple levels of learning, compelling participants to identify relevant issues and to apply practical business lessons to their own situations and companies. EDI teaching is based on application of learning to a real problem, the participants' business.
Most classes have between 20 and 35 participants.
On average, a participant spends about six hours each day in the seminar classroom. The rule of thumb is that two hours advance preparation time is required for each hour of class or seminar time. For example a Supply Chain program is for 14 days and will require 168 hours of independent study over 6 months or an hour a day over the seminar duration.
SG organizes the programs in third-party facilities. They have been usually held in the seminar rooms of Dhow Palace Hotel in Bur Dubai. Business Village conference center is an alternative option. Location are subject to change.

Yes. Many MBAs find the programs to be a natural extension of their education. SG Executive Education programs are based on research, the latest case studies, and the most current information. Programs are designed for senior executives interested in expanding their knowledge in key business areas.
IIMA does not offer any diploma programs outside India. Executive Education programs are designed to help experienced executives and senior managers advance to the next stage of their career, guide their business through specific challenges, and become more effective leaders.
SG programs are designed for face-to-face teaching. None of the programs are available in a distance-learning or an e-learning format.
SG Executive Education partnered with IIMA offers only non-degree programs. The EDI Diploma in Entrepreneurship is a degree program.
Most programs are offered once a year.
