    Managing Partner

    Rajender Bali started SmartGlobal, a boutique Executive Education company in 2005. SmartGlobal focuses upon a niche of knowledge-based senior managerial reinvention space and works in partnership with Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India, and Entrepreneur Development Institute, Ahmedabad, India.

    Prior to starting SmartGlobal, Raj was Chief Operating Officer of ExecuTrain Middle East, global IT Training Company in Dubai. Raj, developed and grew business network across 10 Middle Eastern countries, forged partnerships with companies like Symantec & Intel, and consistently delivered bottom-line results.

    Raj has over 19 years experience in the IT knowledge domain with companies like Aptech Ltd., Hexaware Technologies, and Usha Computers in diverse industries such as IT Education & Training, ISO9000/BPR Consulting, and project development.

    Raj is a Bachelor of Science from Delhi University, India and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, Lucknow, India.

    Manoj has over thirty years of work experience, with expertise in manufacturing, retail and distribution. His experience encompasses industry (21 years), academia (3 years), and Government (6 years).

    He has focused upon creation of new businesses in his career in diverse sectors like renewable energy, algal bio-technology, aquaculture, retail, and specialized chemicals. His managerial expertise encompasses conceptualizing and starting innovative businesses, strategy execution with bottom-line orientation, and organizational-capability development.

    Manoj, since 2005, is Executive Director of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME development, DubaiSME, an agency of Dubai Government´s Department of Economic Development, focused upon developing entrepreneurship by incubating and funding innovative start-ups.

    In 2004 he established SmartGlobal, a specialized strategy-development and executive education company.

    From 1996-2001 he was DyCEO of Jashanmal National Co. (JNC), a $75 m GCC retail and distribution company. Before Dubai, he spent eleven years with Ballarpur Industries Ltd. (Thapar Group) in India where he started The Waterbase Ltd., as CEO, a company he took public.

    Manoj has a Doctorate in Management from Case Western Reserve University, USA, an under-graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India, and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, India.

    Manoj taught strategy to MBA students at Case and is an occasional guest faculty at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
